One- Piece Wonders:
The Maxi Dress, Sundress, and Romper
It’s almost seven months into the year and not only have we shed all symptoms of seasonal affective disorder—these days, the only blues we’re experiencing are those of Etta James and refreshing dips in the ocean—but we’ve also shed our heavy, finicky layers.
Most days are sunny with a high of 75 and wearing just one fundamental piece of clothing is enough to feel comfortable and chic. Today, we’ll wear an elegant maxi dress; tomorrow, the classic sundress; and the day after? A fashionable romper!
The Maxi Dress:
Why it’s a one-piece wonder? One-pieces are so ideal for traveling since they take most of the guesswork out of dressing. One maxi dress can take you from day to night with a few accessories which makes them a vacation staple. Top off your outfit with a floppy straw hat for an “old Hollywood glam” meets “boho beach babe” look.
What’s more quintessential summer than a sundress? Throw on one with a floral print, and you have yourself a foolproof routine ensemble. Opting for sneakers to wear with your sundress makes you look ready to take on any adventure summer might bring. Of course, adventure often requires supplies, so a tasseled bucket bag—in addition to being very on-trend this season—was spacious enough to carry all of the things you could possibly need. And if your sundress is on the looser side, cinch the flowing material at your waist with a skinny elastic belt.
In need of a chic, effortless fashion piece? Try the romper.
Rompers are currently more in vogue than dresses, so you can look very put together with minimal effort. Who doesn’t love Easy?! Emphasize the playful silhouette with flat sandals, or turn up the heat in some fun wedges.
